Cantabile 2

CANTABILE 2
is a sequel from the first concert, titled CANTABILE! which was held last year (and I didn't watch it because I just knew the concert several days before and the tickets were already sold out)

Brief information about Cantabile; Cantabile is a concert which performs classical masterpieces highlighted in a popular Japanese dorama/manga "Nodame Cantabile".
With the popularity of Nodame Cantabile (I'm a big fan of Nodame Cantabile! haha), Addie MS who is the conductor of Twilite Orchestra, decided to perform those symphonic pieces since classic music is merely not only just for the people who study music or the elder one, but also for the youths who are enthusiastic with classic music (especially me haha)

July 1st 2011, I was such in a rush hour to get the ticket because I didn't want to miss it. Stuck in a traffic in the eastern part of Jakarta, was lost for several times + diserobot angkot yang lincah gemulai dengan senantiasa.
At first, it was started with bad news; the Student tickets (which are the cheapest one & sesuai dengan kantong gua; 150,000) are sold out in less than 3 hours. Udah macet, gak berangkat kerja, automatically my father wouldn't let things go in vain that day.
I thought he was about to buy me the silver ones (500,000), but bought me the gold one (750,000). I was shocked and thankful at the same time. Even though I kind of felt uneasy or uncomfortable because I couldn't say or do anything on my way home, I'm too happy that finally, I will watch something that I love, LIVE after total "No" for watching Andrea Bocelli, David Foster and Musikal Laskar Pelangi because of either the tickets were too expensive or tickets were already sold out.

So, I waited until July 16 and I couldn't stop thinking about that.

Then, July 16, around 7p.m, I was already in the concert hall lobby waiting for the doors to be opened, and felt a little bit awkward because I wore T-shirt and knee-length pants/shorts. I wasn't formal haha. but, I didn't care about that~
After the doors were opened, all of the guests & classic music enthusiasts immediately went straight to the doors and amazed by probably the only big venue that support the quality for symphonic music in Jakarta; Aula Simfonia Jakarta.
May people who built this are
 blessed and live happily.

The lights, the stage, the statues of women holding various music instruments, the pictures of brilliant and notable musicians such as; Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, to honor the classic music as a music and culture of the world that has lasted for more than one century, and hasn't lost its magic.
I could imagine myself living in Europe already (I hope I will haha) because the building isn't like other concert hall I've ever been.

By the way, I saw Mr. Klaus Wolfer (Embassy of Austria for Indonesia)
Mr. Klaus Wolfer (right) and the
embassyof Mexico (left and middle)

It was a big extra point for my night haha. I watched him on TV, interviewed, and he seems to be a nice man. And he is!
I was on the same tribune with him and separated by several chairs away. He enjoyed the music very much. I can tell you that because he closed both of his eyes, he closed his right ear, he laid back on his chair smiling (it seems that Austrians enjoy & love classic music very much, huh?)
I also saw his daughter and she's so pretty haha

The repertoire:
1. Glinka's Russlan & Ludmilla overture = the concert was opened with a strong melodies and loud but majestic voice. It was a great piece to start.
2. Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flower (from "The Nutcracker" Suite, op. 71a) = I always love Tchaikovsky's pieces even though I haven't heard most of it yet, but I know his music is something that fits me well. It was beautiful, and it took my breath away at some moments.
3. Beethoven's Violin Sonata no. 5 in F major, op. 24 "Spring"- 1 Allegro = Michelle Siswanto was the violinist who played this and Felicitas was the young woman who accompanied her with piano. A violin, a woman, and its voice was heard throughout the hall, beautifully played and I love the duet.
4. Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major (three movements: Allegramente, Adagio assai & Presto)  = Kazuha Nakahara definitely poured her soul to this piece a lot. She moved her body like she was flowing on a smooth stream, her face was smiling and giving a tension & deep feeling towards her music at the same time, she is amazing.
5. Dvorak's Symphony no. 9 in E minor, op. 95 "From the New World" (four movements: Adagio-Allegro molto, Largo, Scherzo & Allegro con fuoco) = I can't tell you how much I love this piece after I heard it for the second time. The climax, the longing feelings, the glorious feelings, they all mixed up in my body.

Here are the photos taken by me before and after the concert started (sorry for the bad quality, I was using my blackberry...) :
The statues of women holding various musical instruments
which I believe that they are portrayed as the Angel of Music
I couldn't take a picture of Addie MS while he was in action, moving his baton because camera/video-tapping/voice-tapping isn't allowed when the concert is still running.
but he was amazing! I could see his passion for music and his passion for it is beyond something that I could describe.

This was a great experience for me and I am grateful for that.
The things that were in my mind after it were; 1. I wish I watched Cantabile! and had known the concert earlier so I would be able to watch it, 2. Classic music is going to be a part of my life and 3. I don't think classic music is my future, so I have to find and think about something else. but classic music will always be a part of my life, something that I love and I hope I can marry it. Bravo--
During the warming up & tuning

They received a standing ovation!
Bravo, Addie MS, Twilite Orchestra
and Kazuha Nakahara,
Michelle Siswanto & Felicitas N. Alma!

Glee the 3D Concert Movie trailer!!

SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

but apparently,
this will not be released in Indonesia according to the
international release date announcement few days ago u_u
What am I supposed to do now.....

MOS Berakhir?

MOS Berakhir?
Bisa iya, bisa enggak.
Thursday and Friday were hectic days. We moved a lot and plus addition of the hot weather with almost no wind.
I actually hoped that I am going to enjoyed the student orientation or MOS. but apparently, it didn't meet my expectation.
Malah nametag gua ancur agar2 lem-nya belum kering waktu proses laminating, jadinya lemnya kemana-mana dan foto gua di nametag super memalukan bagi hidup gua.
Kalau sampai gua bilang MOSnya seru, menyenangkan, mungkin gua udah gak bernyawa.

For people who've known their seniors for more than a year, it feels awkward and a bit annoying to see them commanding us, yelling at us etc. I was like: "Oh, gosh, is that even you? I haven't seen you like this in school...." or something like that.
I'm just saying what I felt.
I used to be excited for MOS, but now, I hate it. It wasn't really fun at all. It's a completely waste of time. If the aim is to bond us together or to know the school, the seniors or the teachers well, maybe MOS is not the right thing to do.
Apparently, there are actually people who have the same thoughts as me. It's just the system is not too effective or even useless.

(That means I am talking about the MOS in general in Indonesia, okay, not just in our school. But hey, all the seniors were doing a great job, they weren't too hard to us so, no hard feelings for them for sure, but well, I hated one senior actually because she didn't even respect us haha. but overall, it's just okay. What I don't like is the MOS....)

I hope next week, we'll be completely learn on class instead of moving around for MOS.
Thank God, I went to an International school....

Top 10

All of the six routines performed by Jordan & Tadd during the journey to the Top 10

All of the six routines performed by Melanie & Marko during the journey to the Top 10

Melanie Moore, Marko Germar, Tadd Gadduang & Jordan Casanova are in the TOP 10, everybody!
(I'm going to miss them dancing together, but I'm excited to see them dancing with the all star dancers every week)
And congratulations too to Sasha, Caitlyn, Clarice, Jess, Mitchell and Ricky! Which means Ryan and Alexander are eliminated.
Season 8's Top 10
Here are the all-star dancers, announced today during the result show:
  • Melody Lacayanga (S1)
  • Allison Holker (S2)
  • Pasha Kovalev (S3)
  • Stephen “Twitch” Boss (S4)
  • Comfort Fedoke (S4)
  • Chelsie Hightower (S4)
  • Brandon Bryant (S5)
  • Kathryn McCormick (S6)
  • Robert Roldan (S7)

(Yeay! Excited to see Chelsie Hightower on SYTYCD again!

and I can't wait to see Robert dancing on the stage as the all-star dancer!
And who can say no to the presence of Kathryn McCormick & Allison Holker on the stage! haha.
There are only nine dancers announced while we have 10 amazing contestants. Alex Wong from season 7, was about to be one of the all-star dancer later on the show, but apparently, he tweeted that he just got injured again, he snapped the tendon again on the other foot because of doing the same thing he did a year ago when he got injured before the show. DAFUQ. WHAT'S WRONG WITH OUR WORLD NOW.  I'm very sad! It's heart-breaking. All of the SYTYCD alumni-s are praying for him because he is amazing dancer and having an injured leg is like losing a half-part of their lives as a dancer. Keep praying for Alex, okay, I hope he'll dance for us again and recover really soon)

By the way, it is confirmed that Lady Gaga will be the guest judge on the show in two weeks
(on the Top 9 week, I guess)
You must watch her if you are a fan of her. Let's see what magic words will be spoken through her beautiful mouth.
I'm excited about everything!..... but I was surprised when Nigel Lythgoe (the exc.producer and judge of the show) tweeted that the all-star dancers will be changed every week, unlike last season where the contestants picked one all-star dancer from 12 all-star dancers by picking a card from a hat at random...

So You Think You Can Dance got 8 noms for Emmy this year.
Congratulations to Cat Deeley for being nominated as Emmy's Best Reality TV Show host
and also to incredible choreographers who are also nominated for Emmy's outstanding choreography for their pieces performed on the show last season!
  • Mandy Jo MooreBoogie Shoes (Billy Bell & Lauren Froderman) , I Surrender (Neil Haskell & SYTYCD UK winner, Charlie) & Oh Yeah
  • Travis Wall = How It Ends (Kent Boyd & Neil Haskell), Collide (Kent Boyd & Lauren Froderman) & Fix You (Robert Roldan & Allison Holker)
  • Tabitha & Napoleon (NappyTabs) = Outta Your Mind (Alex Wong & Twitch), Fallin (Adechike Robert & Comfort Fedoke) & Scars (Robert Roldan & Dominic Sandoval)
  • Stacey Tookey = Mad World (Billy Bell & Ade Obayomi), Sundrenched World (Kent Boyd & Allison Holker), Heaven is a Place on Earth
  • Mia Michaels = Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic (Top 6 dancers), This Bitter Earth-On Nature of Daylight (Billy Bell, Alex Wong & Ade Obayomi) & When We Dance
Just fyi, those routines are my favorite =)
I hope this season's Travis Wall's "Statue Routine" (which was performed by Melanie & Marko will be nominated and win on the next Emmy)

I always watch one of those when I'm bored and when humming my favorite song doesn't work anymore haha

Now, let's talk about the opening dance routine,
    it was smoking....
and when Jordan was the main attention on the stage with that big red cloth,
she was more than sexy, she was fierce and insanely wild haha!

So You Think You Can Dance TOP 12 (It's almost Top 10!!)

First, surely, I'm going to talk about my favorite couples; Jordan-Tadd and Melanie-Marko

Jordan & Tadd = - This week, Travis Wall finally choreographed Jordan & Tadd (and they finally got contemporary after African Jazz, two Waltz and one hip-hop routine)
I'm telling you, this piece is very dark (and Travis will always be one of the best dancers & choreographers in the world. BRAVO, TRAVIS. This is so far his second best routine in season 8  after Melanie & Marko's Statue Routine)
    - And they got Broadway! AND THE SONG IS "OUT TONIGHT" FROM RENT!
I pretty enjoyed the kiss lol
(and I could see that Tadd also enjoyed the kiss and the dance haha!)
Well, this routine, according to the judges was just okay :(
Oh, please, America, keep them away (and also Marko-Melanie) from bottom 3.

Melanie & Marko = - Yeay, yeay, YEAY! What a sexy tango.
Melanie & Marko did impress the judges again! They've managed to do every challenges given and they always did amazing job!
They are truly couple to beat and the beasts.
and the manuver& lift on the floor was SPECTACULAR even it only lasted for few seconds.
and thank you for the brief 'lecture' about different kinds of Tango, Ms. Mary Murphy!
(I think Jordan has a rival in terms of legs flexibility and sexiness, her rival is.... Melanie lol
and I think Tadd has a rival too as a newbie ballroom dancer, his rival is.... Marko haha.
    I love those couple)
Sonya's comment: "Everytime I watch you dance, ohh, I just lose my breath..." <- so true
She also said she was shivering and both Melanie & Marko are timeless dancers

(This routine made me wondering, why are male ballroom dancers' hair is styled like that and have to look wet?)

    - I hoped they were going to be choreographed by Travis Wall again after I found out that Travis choreographed Jordan & Tadd. And I'm definitely agree with all of the judges especially Jesse who describes this beautiful as "The Moth Dance" because they were dancing with a light bulb even though they were not moths in this piece, they were siblings. They were trying to "grab" a "hope" (and the light bulb was the personification of it)
I love the song btw, the song was "Skins and Bones". It has a deep meaning and it touched my heart.
And again, why are Melanie & Marko so amazing so I could imagine how's the life on their pieces and so happy I could jump from a tower and land on the ground smiling.
They are no doubt one of the best contemporary dancers & partners in this season (or perhaps of all SYTYCD history), I'm 1000% they are indeed fantastic dancers. Like what Nigel said, "there's something magical about a pair of you (Melanie & Marko)" =)

I'M GOING TO MISS THESE COUPLE SINCE THEY ARE GOING TO BE SPLIT UP AND JUDGED COMPLETELY INDIVIDUALLY IF THEY ARE IN THE TOP 10 (I hope they will! *fingers-crossed*)
    :(

They were magnificent this week, and I'm pretty sure that their last moment as partners was precious and amazing.  I hope I'll see them dance in partner again and I hope (and I am sure) that they'll be doing amazing job and make more unforgettable routines again with the all-star dancers....(but I think I'm also excited to see more of their personalities and individual performances + quality + versatility. I will always support four of them anyway,
so GO MELANIE! GO MARKO! GO TADD! GO JORDAN! GO GO GO! SLAY IT HARD AND KILL EVERYTHING!)

Now, let's talk about the other couples..
Sasha & Alexander = - The first 7 second routine (which was paso doble & broadway), Sasha was definitely much stronger than Alexander and it's always been like that throughout the show in my opinion....

Ryan & Ricky =  - One thing that I'm not happy about is Spencer Liff's Broadway routine for Ryan & Ricky, has the same story as Tyce's Broadway routine for Lauren & all star dancer, Neil last season. (remember Lauren's wardrobe malfunction? lol)
One guy fantasized about a Hollywood actress then she seduced him and so on...
It is so unfortunate for me. Spencer is an amazing Broadway dancer and choreographer at the same time.
And apparently, Ryan & Ricky didn't 'execute' the routine well unlike when they amazingly did the Jazz routine last week.....
    - The cha-cha routine was almost boring for me (sorry)
The only thing that made me watch is their foot moves which were incredible and I haven't seen a cha-cha like that.

Caitlyn & Mitchell = - They did the hip hop routine great, but it's not the best the show has ever seen. And I didn't get the story if the choreographer didn't tell the audience what's the story. I was expecting them to be as great as when they did "To Love You More" contemporary routine (last week...?).....
    - The second routine, which was contemporary by the extraordinary Travis Wall, was great.
With the Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart", I instantly thought that Caitlyn was the dancing version of Janis Joplin as she was intended to be and dressed like an angry 80s girl rocker despite of the footwear with fishnet stocking part which made her look a bit like a stripper...instead of rocker.
but.... I wish Travis choreographed Melanie & Marko again....
Actually, I kind of think that Travis Wall's routine which was supposed to be amazing, didn't work out for Caitlyn & Mitchell. They're not the right person or the right tools to carve Travis' wood.

Clarice & Jess = - People have to admit that the best lyrical hip hop routine so far on this season is Melanie & Marko's "Best Friends" routine by NappyTabs. I just wish I could see more "light" from this routine, but despite, they have brought "smile" to people who have insecurity issues in my opinion.I was expecting more from them.....
    - The second routine which was Jive, it was fun! Haha. That's what I only can say for both of them haha.

By the way, I'm happy to see Sonya Tayeh in the judges panel! She is amazing too! True artist and inspiration! haha
The show has to invite artistic judges like Sonya Tayeh or Mia Michaels because it gives us more & wider perception
because people like her are few people who can describe things not generally but artistically and give us more imagination & vision of what's happening. Their heart, mind and mouth are connected so they are honest about themselves, that's what makes people like Sonya a true artist.
If Cat did allowed Sonya to swear, it'll be one of the coolest thing I've ever watched lol
(I hope Lady Gaga will be the judge too as she was planned to be on the show. She'll be amazing)

Comment of the Night: "Message received, loud and clear"-- Jesse Tyler Fergusson.

Tomorrow, is going to be the celebration of the journey in Top 20 and a fresh start in the Top 10 with the All-star dancers to win the competition.
I hope Marko, Melanie, Tadd & Jordan will be in the top 10 as will go far, very far!
    =)

So You Think You Can Dance TOP 14

    Another post again for today!
Melanie & Marko (flaming hot Jazz routine for the second time) - Americano (by Lady Gaga)
LOVE IT. THEY ALWAYS KILL IT EVERYTIME THEY PERFORM ON STAGE.
    I'll say SHUT.THE.FRONT.DOOR <-Kristin Chenoweth's comment last week

Jordan & Tadd's tender waltz for the second time
    I LOVE THIS COUPLE TOO.

Caitlyn & Mitchell's beautiful contemporary routine choreographed by the extraordinary Mandy Moore at the end of the show accompanied by Celine Dion's "To Love You More" (which is one of my favorite songs)

Well, Caitlyn and Mitchell's contemporary was the highlight of the night, it received standing ovation from the judges, but I love Marko-Melanie and Tadd-Jordan 's performances more :D
I was a bit upset that Jordan & Tadd were in the bottom three this week, but gratefully,
Tadd's and Jordan's solo performance were amazing and the judges are keeping them on the show.
For me, highlight of the night was: JORDAN'S LEGS DURING HER SOLO PERFORMANCE. WHO NEEDS ARMS IF SHE HAS LEGS LIKE THAT. AMAZING. <- Lil'C 's comment last week lawl

Here are some M&M gifs & pics I found on Tumblr:
(I LOVE THIS COUPLE ESPECIALLY MELANIE!!)

I tweeted that I want to see Melanie, Marko, Tadd & Jordan dancing
    Bollywood routine on the show.
    but eventually it just happened!
They danced Bollywood as the opening of the show's Result Show
Gladly, they're still on the show.
    TOP 10 IS NEAR!!!!

bromance between PinoyPride; Marko & Tadd
Both of them tweeted the pictures
And I want to remind you that everybody can dance if they want to be healthy.
So, you can send video of you dancing during US' National Dance Day to SYTYCD or you just keep it for yourself and have fun.
These are the routines for National Dance Day on July 30

    You can try this
Mary Murphy, the Queen of Ballroom & Scream's easy salsa moves
    or
Master category by awesome Hip hop choreographer couple,
    NAPPYTABS!!!!!!

    COOOOOLLLLLL *Kent Boyd*
I wanna try it later lmao
I'll be a total epic fail for sure.

    Lady Gaga's performance in Singapore (July 7th 2011 @ Marina Bay Sands) /via @gagaindonesia

These past few weeks have been filled with Lady Gaga.
    Lady Gaga is in ASIA.
She was in Japan for MTV Music Aid Japan and for other works, and
you all know Lady Gaga's  Day in Taiwan last July 3rd, right? It was historical and the moment when she was on a stage, watched by nearly 40,000 people in the city was like monumental and glorious.
    This time, Singapore experienced it

    and ........................
July 6th was a historical day for all monsters around the globe especially Indonesian monsters.
She tweeted herself that there'll be a world tour, and she'll be coming to Indonesia next year for the new tour; BORNTHISWAYBALL (or simply BTWBall) which is her second/third *unsure* tour in her career .
I want to highlight this; SHE CAPS LOCK-ED INDONESIA
Btw, @gagaindonesia 's admin is one lucky people (specifically, little monster). He toured around the Marina Bay Sands and met some of Gaga's band members and her dancers, like Mark Kanemura (I freaked out when I saw his photo w/ Mark; one of my favorite SYTYCD dancers)
Every little monsters in Indonesia is appreciating their hard work for these past few years.
BORNTHISWAYINDO was Trending worldwide because of their work and all of Indonesian monsters.
Maybe Gaga saw our hardwork and she decided to visit us soon. so Congratulations, GagaIndonesia (and also to Karina, Dewantara, Ben, and many because they deserve it) :)

I was so super duper excited for this, until yesterday, I decided to not making it as a focus in my life for the next six months. (which means, I don't know yet whether I am coming or not. I wish I can, but there are things that have to be sacrificed for a better reason)
[I've struggled a lot to not being jealous or envy people too much, I've had enough of being disappointed again and again just because I don't get something that I've been dying for a long time. In this case; Oboe, Andrea Bocelli, etc...
(You can judge me that I'm ungrateful, but I'm just expecting more in my life)
...and another reason is, I don't know how much the ticket prices are going to be (according to some sources, the MonsterBall tour which was the previous one, it's around $150-$300. but hey, it's a world tour. I'm not sure if it's going to be affordable by me or even if the ticket is affordable, I may not get the ticket due to the number of little monsters in Indonesia which is crazy and I'll be left behind, and again..... disappointed with the reality. I just don't want to burden myself again. And despite, I'll learn again how to let something go)
I really consider every aspects in my life including my future. It's not the first time I have to let go something.
I've given up on my effort & work to buy and learn oboe because I eventually thought that maybe it's just not for me and it's not the right time for me to being selfish. and that's just one thing from many.]
I love her, whatever happens won't affect my love to her and other people who I love in this world :)

These are my relationships w/ So You Think You Can Dance 7 & 8 contestants

Btw, I want @D8Melanie to say HIII to me too =D
(thanks for replying me, Billy, Tadd, Ryan and Marko!)
If the Glee casts, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion & Andrea Bocelli do the same thing (I mean, they notice me as their biggest fans), I'll die because of "over-joyfulness" it will make my life more complete! I could die because of "over-joyfulness"

I found this on Tumblr and
you have to know that I'm never get bored watching
    this routine over and over.
(Check my the past postings about them to see their performances in three weeks.
Gonna post more things about them l8r!)
